8 pm Central European Time. During the day, Bilal works as an apprentice tinsmith in Munich. He came here as a refugee from Nigeria. At 8 p.m. he has returned to the suburb of Odelzhausen where he lives. He gets into the car of his Bavarian neighbor who drives him to the neighbouring village of Sulzemoos for training. Bilal is the star of the local football. In Lisbon, Joana still drives tourists around the city centre in her tuktuk. The job is a stopgap for the tourism expert. She barely makes ends meet. Youth unemployment remains high as Portugal still struggles with the repercussions of the 2008 financial crisis. Amerigo belongs to an extreme right-wing party in Trieste. He founded a vigilante group which he leads. They all rejects foreigners, queer people and the EU. As a group, they claim to prevent crimal behaviour by foreigners in their neighborhood. Astrid was present in Norway when a right-wing extremist committed a massacre at the Social Democratic Party's summer youth camp. Globalisation is shaping the lives of all European citizens in 2018.
