Emma and her friends Ronje and Benjamin are at home in the village of Gjesvær on the Arctic island of Magerøya. Her parents work as fishermen in family businesses. The winters in Gjesvær are long, even in May snowstorms rage.
There is no cinema or disco in the remote village next to the North Cape.
