Comedian Harmonists

History/Biography, Austria/Germany 1997

In the late 1920s, six musicians found an a cappella ensemble in a Berlin backyard that quickly conquers the country's stages. But their great success blinds the six young men, including three Jews, to the political changes in the country. After Hitler's seizure of power and the 1934 ban on Jews performing, the successful troupe is on the verge of extinction.
